PBS ombudsman criticizes Sesame Street for 'POX News' joke
Poor Oscar the Grouch. Not even PBS' ombudsman will cut him a break. No wonder he's so grouchy. Well that and he lives in a garbage can. That would make me more than a little perturbed.
A clip of a two-year episode of Sesame Street popped up on YouTube thanks to conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart's on his Big Hollywood blog in which Grundgetta, Oscar's girlfriend, makes a crack about "POX News" that sounds very close to "FOX News." PBS' ombudsman Michael Getler said while the name could be construed as a "clever and appropriate title" to the "Grouch News Network," the joke about the reference "should have been resisted.
I was shocked when I saw it. Oscar the Grouch has a frigging girlfriend?!?

What You Missed Last Night: Conan apologizes to Levi
Yesterday we posted video of William Shatner reading the tweets of Levi Johnston on The Tonight Show. Turns out Shatner read tweets from a fake Twitter account, and Johnston demanded an apology. He got one last night from Conan (well, sort of), but then we were treated to more Shatner. (Bonus: Conan mentions TMZ!)

The erotic haikus of Jack Donaghy's assistant
The poetry posts continue. OK, specifically, it's haikus this time. Jonathan, Jack Donaghy's assistant on 30 Rock, has always had a crush on his boss (remember the episode where he made the collage after Jack was demoted?), and in this web exclusive we find out how deep his feelings go. Love the Bluetooth while he's performing.
By the way, have you noticed that Jack has had a few different assistants over the past few seasons?

"Gettin' Rid of Britta" - the music video
Leave it to the folks behind Community to go the extra mile for a joke. Last night's episode featured Britta's small-nippled ex, Vaughn, singing a song about what a B Britta is. First of all, I love it when anyone on TV calls someone a "B," because it always makes me think of Arrested Development ("Don't call mother a 'B,' Michael!"), and secondly, having Pierce on keyboards and backup vocals singing about how Britta is a "GD B," is just hilarious.
My sister has a friend named Britta, so anytime there's any Britta hate on Community, we harass her on her Facebook profile with clips. Because maturity is my middle name. So enjoy this video and bask in the glory of more of Vaughn's tortured rhyme schemes. Sample lyric: "I wouldn't strangle her, but I would sell her to the highest bidder." It even becomes a singalong at the end!

Price is Right model + remote control skateboard = hilarious
The Price is Right is full of bloopers, bleeps and blappers. But only one word can describe this: blooptastic.
One of the show's models (what are they called now? Drew's Dames? Carey's Chicks?) was modeling a prize, specifically a remote controlled skateboard, and...well, you can problem imagine what happens next. And if you can't, please get an imagination upgrade.

The best thing you'll see all day: Real Housewife Kim Zolciak performing Tardy for the Party
I don't actually watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but as I have a pulse and an internet connection, I am all to aware of housewife Kim Zolciak and her uh, club jam, "Tardy for the Party." For those of you who may not be totally up on the whole Atlanta saga, Kim is the one who's dating a married man named Big Papa and wears a wig, which she said was due to a battle with cancer-- until she admitted that she had never actually had cancer; she just thought she might one time until she actually went to the doctor.
So anyway, The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, hosted by Bravo exec Andy Cohen, is airing on Thursday, and part of the festivities involve Kim singing her "hit." You guys, there are two important items to note about this performance: 1) she has dancers and 2) she is not lip-synching.
Have you ever had a drunken friend or relative get up and sing a really inappropriate karaoke song, and you just smiled uncomfortably and prayed for it to be over quickly? This is like that-- except it is most definitely not over quickly.

What's Hot on SlashControl: Sneak peek at tonight's Fringe
It appears that the Russians have fringe science, too. Tonight's episode of Fringe, "Earthling," ups the creep factor with an old case of Agent Broyles' that's come back to haunt him. The story centers on a cosmonaut who goes to outer space and brings something mysterious back with him that's killing people.
On first glance, it appears to be a standalone episode not connected with the alternate universe, but my feeling is that every episode is somehow connected to the big picture. The fact that this series of murders was unsolved is a good clue, and the guy in the hospital bed with half of a head is reminiscent of the people who get caught between the two universes. Any theories before we see tonight's episode?
And since the last episode, "Dream Logic," ended with a young Peter being yanked from his room, I'm hoping we get a few more clues into his past in tonight's episode, too. Here's the clip, straight from SlashControl.

More poetry: Kristen Wiig reads the words of Suzanne Somers
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't get culture and literature from TV Squad. This is the second post about poetry today. (Tomorrow: e.e. cummings.)
I saw Suzanne Somers on Rachael Ray this morning, and then I go to Best Week Ever and see video of SNL's Kristen Wiig reading excerpts from Somers' book of poetry! Unlike the post link above, these words really are from Somers.

Everybody loves George Lopez
Lopez Tonight, George Lopez's new late night show on TBS, premieres this Monday at 11 p.m. His first guests will be Eva Longoria Parker, Ellen DeGenres, and Kobe Bryant. A bunch of other celebs are part of the video below, wishing Lopez luck on his late night talk show adventure.
Each celebrity was paid $10 for their shout-outs to Lopez. Just kidding!

What You Missed Last Night: Shatner recites the Twitter poetry of Levi Johnston
William Shatner has appeared on The Tonight Show to give his typically awesome take on the Twitter messages that Sarah Palin posted to her account when she was Governor of Alaska. Last night he appeared again to recite the Twitter "poetry" of her arch-rival Levi Johnston.
Update: Johnston and his lawyer demand a retraction from Conan, saying that Twitter account is actually fake and Johnston never said those things. Maybe Conan will apologize on tonight's show. [Watch clips and episodes of The Tonight Show and other shows on SlashControl.]

Sneak Peek: Tonight's 30 Rock
The ongoing plot this season on 30 Rock is the search for a new cast member for TGS. A certain NBC personality guest stars on tonight's episode to audition for Liz, which brings back memories of when she auditioned for commercials years earlier.

A clip from the new Doctor Who CGI
Someone on YouTube has smuggled a clip of the new Doctor Who CGI adventure that the BBC will be airing later this year titled "Dreamland". It's still the David Tennant version of the Doctor, so he gets one more go as the character before he becomes Rex.And it looks... well, frankly, not that good. Oh, the story is great, I'm sure, and Tennant is as spot on as the Doctor as he ever was. It's the CGI. It looks primitive by today's standards. Topless Robot wrote the the style of the clip reminds them of the Reboot CGI cartoon from the 90's, and I have to agree. I recognize the BBC isn't Pixar, and I'm all for Doctor Who in other non-filmed forms, whether it's CGI, primitive animation or just plain old audio adventures. But if it's done, I'd rather it be done better than this.
However, I leave it to you to judge for yourself. What do you think of the clip?
Sneak Peek: Syfy's Alice
Syfy has become known not just for cheesy sci-fi and horror flicks but also remakes, or "reimaginings," of several classic films and shows. They had Children of the Corn recently, they had Tin Man (a modern take on The Wizard of Oz), and they have an Alien Nation remake in the works (not to mention Quantum Leap).
They're also doing Alice, which is their take on Alice in Wonderland. Here's the trailer. It premieres December 6.

What's Hot on SlashControl: Mariah Carey falls for Jay Leno
On Monday's episode of The Jay Leno Show, Mariah Carey made quite the entrance, taking a little stumble on her way out to meet the talk show host. I've always wondered how the heck she walks in those super high heels, but since it's all you ever see her wearing, she gets plenty of practice. In this clip from SlashControl, she doesn't blame the heels themselves, but rather a strap that broke backstage. That would be a shoe strap, not the other kind.
And speaking of that, it's a good thing Mariah didn't fall any further than she did, or there would have been some major wardrobe malfunctions going on. With the dangerous combo of high heels and that massive chest, it's a wonder she can stay upright at all. Oh, come on. You know you're thinking the same thing. Nick Cannon is either a very happy guy, or a very tortured guy who puts up with the diva for, uh, his own personal reasons.

Happy 7000th episode, Price is Right
I'm not sure if it seems like it should be more episodes or less, but The Price is Right has been going strong since 1972 and they're going to be celebrating their 7000th episode on November 5. I guess that seems right, it's just that when a show is on for 37 years you lose all track of the number of episodes.
Here's a behind the scenes look at tomorrow's show.
