Entertainment Weekly reports that actor Jeff Fahey is joining ABC's hit series Lost. The actor, best known for his roles in The Lawnmower Man and Grindhouse, is set to join new cast members Lance Reddick, Ken Leung, Jeremy Davies, and Rebecca Mader, in the fourth season of the show.As expected, details on the character Fahey will play are under wraps. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse revealed that the actor was their first and only choice for the role.
Damon Lindelof told Entertainment Weekly: "Fahey is one of those actors who feels like he fits into the Lost model: He's enormously talented and will be vaguely recognizable to some people, but he'll be able to land on our island without most people going, 'Oh, I know who that guy is.' And especially for the part we cast him for, he has exactly the right sensibilities."
Speculation on the Internet is already blooming. It seems that a lot of fans believe he may play the yet-to-be seen Jacob. Do you agree with said speculation? If not, feel free to comment and let your voice be heard as to what type of character you think Fahey will play.

Strictly speaking, we have seen Jacob. He has a few frames of screen time.

We may have seen a glimpse of Jacob, but at that point they still hadnt cast who would actually play Jacob, so that little glimpse wont really be enough to deter them from casting someone to regularly play the creepy quasi-ghost...and maaaaaaan would fahey make a good jacob...im just freakin busting waiting for feb to roll around...

5 new cast members, plus the return of another (announced during the critic's tour a few weeks ago)? Don't they already have a cast of about a dozen? I don't understand why they start off each season adding so many new cast members to a show that takes place on an island. I'm a big fan, but I'd prefer it if they concentrated on the actors they already have (in new storylines, not in anymore redundant flashbacks, please!). At this rate, half the Screen Actors Guild will be buying houses in Hawaii.

Scott: Heroes is doing the same this year. They have a huge cast and added at least 6 new ones so far! Some of Lost's new additions are rumored to be people from Naomi's "boat".

Maybe they'll finally release The Marshal on DVD. Fahey was awesome on that show. Anybody remember it? ABC? Mid 90s?

The new shows are a little more willing to axe main characters off. If you don't add new characters and don't have red shirts available, your cast will be pretty slim before long.
I just like the fact that "no one is safe".

The picture shown with this article certainly resembles the glimpse we got of Jacob. I know we haven't gone through all 42 (?is that what we're down to?) Flight 815 survivors, but my guess is definitely someone in Ben's crew.

I am absolutely *delighted* that Jeff Fahey has been cast in "Lost". He has been one of my favorite actors for many years, and if he is indeed going to be Jacob, he will be perfect for the part. Now I am finally excited about the new season of "Lost".
